Ledbury weatherman Norman Selkirk estimates that no more than a quarter of an inch of snow fell on the town during a flurry on Wednesday evening.
Mr Selkirk, of Albert Road, said he expected conditions to be back to wet, windy and mild by tomorrow (Saturday).
"This was a very well publicised cold snap and it didn't live up to expectations. It's probably all the snow we'll get for the rest of the winter too," he said.
The thermometer in Ledbury on Wednesday night read minus three degrees Celsius.
Mr Selkirk said: "No one in their right mind could call this a cold spell. We used to have 20ft drifts. In 1947, the village of Eastnor had to be supplied by sledge for eight weeks."
This week's snow posed no problems for Ledbury Fire Brigade, Sub-Officer Keith Wildig reported no related incidents.
However a Ledbury crew did attend a factory blaze at Ashchurch, near Tewkesbury, on Wednesday afternoon, in a support role for other crews already on the scene.
