Ledbury U12s once again found themselves visiting the Gloucester suburbs for this hard fought encounter, the home side fielding the heaviest pack that Ledbury are likely to come up against.
LONGLEVENS U12S v LEDBURY U12S
It was the weight of this pack that was to separate the sides, as Ledbury, after a spirited first half, went down by five tries to one. Having regained possession from the kick off, it was Ledbury who opened the scoring with by far the best play of the game.
Having achieved turn-over ball after a penalty against them, Tom West broke up field and was well supported by Aarron deBathe and Jamie Ford to produce four unbroken phases to find themselves within striking distance of the hosts line. An infringement by Longlevens handed a penalty to Ledbury who's tap-and-go created a rolling maul for Dan Allam to feed Charlie Smith and in turn smuggle to Ollie Skittery for the opener and conversion to go seven points up. A reply by the hosts levelled the scores at half time.
As the second half wore on, the weight of the opposition pack was to disadvantage Ledbury, and against the run of play on most occasions, four un-answered tries were scored.
Alex Baine,Andrew Nash and Tom Coleman put in a terrific work rate but to no avail.
Next week, Painswick at home, meet 10.30am Ross Road.
