Newent town councillors will be looking at a possible site for the new children's play area by Lakeside tomorrow (Saturday, January 31).
The "meadow" area, near the car park, is the favoured site at present.
Money for the new play area, around £30,000, could come from Cannerton Properties, developers of the former Bennions garage site in Broad Street, as part of a deal for planning permission.
Councillors will also go on a site visit tomorrow to the Recreation Ground off Watery Lane, where they will look into the siting of a £2,500 "recreation wall", which older children will be able to use for netball, football practice and other activities.
Mayor Fred Passant said that budget funding already existed for this proposed facility.
