DESIGN STATEMENT - Radnorshire planning committee has formally adopted a community and village design statement for Clyro, which will be taken into account when applications are considered. Steve Packer, planning manager, said that the submission of housing applications at Clyro over the last few years resulted in considerable interest and concern by members of the community, which led to the establishment of a working group known as the Clyro Forum. The statement aimed to ensure that future developments, large or small, were of good design. Clyro is known to a much wider world through the diaries of the Rev Francis Kilvert, who served as curate there in the 1860's and 1870's and the statement makes the point that buildings in the locality still have a rural look.
GRANT AID - An £8,000 Powys historic building grant has been awarded to help meet the cost of work on Ashbrook House, Clyro.
NORTON BUILDING GRANT - A Powys historic building grant of £2,288 has been agreed by the county council's board to help pay for work on Boultibrooke Lodge, Norton.
