MILES, the life-sized Macmillan mouse, hitched a ride on a milk float at Bartonsham Dairies to help launch its contribution to the Macmillan Miles Challenge.
This month, milkmen have been delivering more than just daily pintas. They have also been dropping envelopes through customers' doors, inviting support - and donations.
"I'm really pleased we will be pacing the pavements to help people with cancer this year," said Lynn Stephens, of Bartonsham Dairies. "Our support will help the Herefordshire Macmillan Nurses Appeal, so customers will be 'milked' for a good cause!"
"It's brilliant that the milkmen will be supporting our appeal," added Ron Davies, Macmillan fundraising manager.
"The £250,000 we aim to raise will fund two new Macmillan nurses for the county, who will work in palliative care and oncology along with their colleagues in the Community Team and the Charles Renton Unit.
"I would like to thank everyone at the dairy, and hope that their customers will support them."
