TEATIME can be any time from Saturday until May 29, as the Samaritans in Herefordshire ask everyone to take part in their Time for Tea fundraising initiative.

It is part of this year's celebration of Samaritans' 50th anniversary, and aims to raise vitally needed funds for the Samaritans' confidential emotional support service - the service costs £10m a year, 96% of which comes from donations.

"On one level, Time for Tea is an enjoyable fundraising event," says David Harvey, branch director. "On another, it represents the Samaritans' belief that even a humble cup of tea can provide a valuable moment for communication."

All it involves is getting together with friends or colleagues, having a cuppa and making a donation.

Across the UK, you can call the Samaritans on 08457 909090 for the price of a local call, send an email to jo@samaritans.org or write to Chris, PO Box 9090, Stirling, FK8 2SA.
