HEREFORD United boss Graham Turner believes tonight's opponents Dagenham & Redbridge will do everything possible to avenge last season's humiliation in front of the television cameras (7.45pm).

The Bulls stunned Sky viewers in February when they annihilated the Daggers 9-0 at Victoria Road, the first of 11 straight victories for United.

Although Turner expects his side to maintain its unbeaten run away from Edgar Street, which currently stands at 17 matches, he anticipates a more mundane scoreline in Essex.

Turner said: "I think it's fair to say Dagenham will want to avenge what happened the last time we met. It was an excellent performance and an unbelievable result on the night in front of live television cameras.

"It was one of those scorelines that I don't think you will ever see repeated. None of my sides had ever scored nine previously. We go there full of confidence and we will take any sort of win."

Captain Tony James is poised to return in defence after Tamika Mkandawire picked up a three-match ban for his sending off during Saturday's goal-less draw at home to Burton Albion.

Mkandawire was shown the red card after bringing down Albion's Andy Ducros as the midfielder looked set to run down on goal.

James has suffered with a slight groin strain but came off the bench for the final 10 minutes, along with midfielder Rob Purdie who had been out for a month with an ankle problem.

Turner was frustrated with the result against Nigel Clough's Burton and also disappointed with referee Andrew Turner after four Bulls players were booked.

He said: "Too many cards were shown out during the game. Ourselves and Burton Albion had the two best disciplinary records in the Conference last season yet he found a way of booking six and sending another off.

"I don't think Tammy's tackle deserved a red card. A yellow card would have been shown 99 times out of 100 for that.

"It was a frustrating afternoon because Burton laid down and defended in numbers. We were not bright enough in attack and, after the sending off, it was always going to be difficult to get that goal."

The Bulls host League One side Doncaster Rovers in the LDV Vans Trophy second round on Tuesday, November 2.
