Hereford United skipper Tony James is urging Bulls fans to get out of town.

James, on target in his side's 3-1 opening victory over Farnborough Town at Edgar Street on Saturday, wants supporters to follow the team to Crawley tonight (7.45).

The Bulls look to continue their impressive away form from last season and stretch their winning Conference run to 13 games.

Fans' favourite James, 25, said: "Our away form last season was phenomenal, 14 wins, four draws and 61 goals.

"The tremendous support from our large army of travelling fans was a vital factor in our achieving those results.

"So, the more of you who can travel to Crawley and York, the better our chances of returning home with the points."

More than 3,600 fans were at Edgar Street to see Saturday's Conference clash, the second highest of the day behind Carlisle United.

But Crawley, promoted from the Dr Martens Premier Division last season, are likely to pose a trickier test than troubled Farnborough.

The Broadfield Stadium club, who include former Hereford forward Danny Davidson, will look for a win from their first home game after defeating Leigh 2-1 on Saturday.

Hereford hope to have Welsh defender Ryan Green back in contention after he was rested from Saturday's game with a back injury.

The experienced Graham Hyde returns after suspension but may not force Jamie Pitman or Craig Stanley out of the central midfield berths.

Forward Danny Carey-Bertram (knee) is unlikely to be fit but James should have recovered from a gashed head that needed stitches against Farnborough.

Attack

David Brown and Adam Stansfield are expected to link up again in attack, despite new arrival Lee Mills scoring after coming off the bench on Saturday.

Ex-Wolves and Coventry man Mills, 34, has agreed to a season-long deal with the Bulls.

He said: "I've had quite a lot of teams enquire but nobody had come up with a firm offer or made me feel welcome.

"But Graham gave me a ring about two weeks ago and I left it for a while but as nothing had come in I thought there's worse places I could be than Hereford so I plumped for it.

"I'm glad to be here and hope things will improve for me. I've signed for a year. So I've got twelve months to get my fitness right.

"I want to see the season through with Hereford and hopefully get them back into the Football League."
