Hereford United have eased a potential goalkeeping crisis by signing Chris Mackenzie on loan from Telford for a month.
Matt Baker's deputy Ben Scott suffered a broken thumb leaving manager Graham Turner without back-up as United bid to return to the Football League via the play-offs.
Mackenzie will be eligible to play in the play-offs for the Bulls after they were given special exemption to sign a goalkeeper after the transfer deadline following Scott's injury.
MacKenzie is a well-known figure at Edgar Street after making more than 80 appearances during a three-year stint between 1994 and 1997. He came from Corby and left Hereford to go to Leyton Orient.
Meanwhile, captain Tony James (knee) and Rob Purdie (hip) are struggling to be fit for Saturday's showdown with Nationwide Conference champions Chester City.
Midfielder Danny Williams (ankle) is also a doubt after sustaining an injury in reserve team action at Nuneaton on Tuesday night.
