HEREFORD United's title hopes are hanging by a thread after Chester City's 0-0 draw at Shrewsbury Town last night.
Mark Wright's team can now clinch the Nationwide Conference championship with victory against Scarborough at the Deva Stadium at the weekend.
United, who have won their last nine games, must win at Leigh RMI on Saturday and rely on the Seadogs upsetting Chester to give themselves any hope of denying the Blues.
If Chester fail to beat Scarborough, the title race would go to the last day of the season when Wright's team visits Edgar Street a week on Saturday.
Loan signing Scott Willis, who is suspended for the final two games, has reportedly left the club though that has not been confirmed by Edgar Street.
