Hereford United duo Jamie Pitman and Danny Williams have given the club a boost ahead of their crunch Easter weekend programme by signing new deals with the club.

The midfielders have been an integral part to the Bulls' success this season and manger Graham Turner has also made offers to other players who are currently considering them.

Pitman's second stint at the club has proved as successful as his first where he has established himself at the heart of the Bulls midfield. Williams joined Hereford in 2002 from Chesterfield after impressing in a trial spell and has flourished at Edgar Street.

Both players have helped Hereford's title challenge which is poised for make or break this weekend with clashes against fellow promotion hopefuls Barnet and Aldershot Town.

Barnet visit Edgar Street today having seen their record for the most away goals (53) sent tumbling by Andy Tretton's winner at Halifax last week.

His goal was the 54th away strike of Hereford's season which beats Barnet's Conference record set 13 years ago.

The Halifax victory was also their seventh successive win to give them their best sequence in the Conference this season and their best sequence since John Charles was boss in 1970-71.

Hereford's win at Halifax also brought up a series of other statistical milestones. It was their 12th win on their travels, matching a feat last achieved when they won the Third Division title in 1976.

In addition the Bulls' points haul of 79 is the best in their 80 year history while Steve Guinan's goal makes him the club's leading scorer in the Conference with 37, beating Rob Elmes.

Turner also chalked up match number 450 since arriving at the club in 1995. United have win 178, drawn 117 and lost 151, scoring 639 goals and conceding 540.
