Hereford United's promotion credentials go under the microscope in front of Sky's television cameras at Dagenham & Redbridge tonight.

Bulls captain Tony James admits it's a must-win game after seeing Conference leaders Chester extend their lead at the top following Hereford's shock home defeat to Woking last weekend.

Extra pressure has been piled on Graham Turner's side with Aldershot's midweek victory at Halifax Town putting them level on points with the Edgar Street club.

With another difficult away match at Telford United on Tuesday, it's a vital few days, acknowledges James.

"Dagenham is a tough place to go but we've got two away games on the bounce and I think the way things are going nothing less than two wins is what we need," he said. "We've 11 games to go and basically we've got to try and win every one."

Dagenham, who lost in the play-off final last season, have struggled this season and currently lie 11th in the table, 13 points off the pace.

However, after bagging a point at Edgar Street earlier in the season in a 1-1 draw, James is geared up for a tough game.

"Dagenham have changed their style a little bit since last year," he said. "Where they used to pass it a lot more, they are now more workmanlike. But they spoilt the game for us at our place, making it difficult for us to play and we're expecting a similar thing tonight."

Hereford's defeat to Woking was their second home loss on the trot, an error from keeper Matt Baker gifting them three points.

"Against Woking we had most of the possession, created chances, may be not clear-cut chances, but decent chances and they had one shot and that was it," said James.

"Things are not quite going our way at present but there's no better way of getting back to winning ways than doing it on television."

New loan signing Scott Willis is set to go into the Hereford squad but full back Simon Travis is a doubt after requiring four stitches in an ankle injury.

Ryan Green (hip) has trained his week but is still rated doubtful.

FORMCAST: Bulls to win 2-1.
