WESTFIELDS have added two Kington Town players to their squad in the build-up to their second Midland Alliance season.

Manager Sean Edwards has obtained the signatures of midfielder Chris King and central defender Dave Howes but is still hoping to add an experienced striker to his squad before pre-season training starts on July 11.

For 24-year-old Howes, it is a return to his football roots as he spent six years with Westfields before moving on for a three-year spell at Kington.

"Both players will be a big asset to our squad and I am sure will prove important signings," said Edwards. "We need a big squad in the Midland Alliance, particularly with so many midweek games early in the season.

Westfields, meanwhile, have organised a busy pre-season schedule with six matches, five of which will take place at allpay.park.

The highlight is likely to be a visit from AFC Telford United, the new club sprung from the ashes of former Nationwide Confer-ence club Telford United which went into liquidation earlier in the summer.
