AN 89th-minute equaliser from Chris Jefferson gave Westfields a deserved 1-1 away draw in their local derby match with Ludlow Town in the Travel Factory Midland Alliance on Monday.

Gareth Horler broke the deadlock in an evenly-contested game by heading Ludlow ahead in the 75th minute. Westfields' reward came late in the game when Nicky Welch's 20-yard shot was only parried and Jefferson had a simple tap-in.

Westfields were without Roy Jordan who has joined AFC Telford after three seasons with the Hereford club.

Pegasus Juniors ended the holiday period without a GLS Hellenic League Premier Division point when they lost 1-0 at home to title-chasing Slimbridge.

Ross Town, down to 10 men through injury, conceded an 87th-minute equaliser in a 3-3 home draw with Cirencester United in Division 1 West. Jamie Warwick (2) and Simon Gwynne were the Ross scorers.

Ledbury Town returned to West Midlands League action and trounced Coseley Town 6-1 away in the Premier Division with goals from Lee Hooper (2), Robbie Colwell (2), Steve Olczak and Gareth Davis.
