The New Year's Eve charity dance at Ledbury Community Centre has raised more than £1,000 after the tradition was revived this year.
The dance was a regular diary date for Ledbury, taking place seven years in a row until 2000 and being revived again last Friday by organiser, Sara Johns.
A total of 165 tickets were sold for the dance, which raised £812 for the Marie Curie cancer care charity and a further £235 for the tsunami disaster appeal.
Mrs Johns, of Oatleys Terrace, said: "People were very generous. The people who came enjoyed a fantastic atmosphere and were saying, please can we do this again next year. I enjoy seeing people enjoy themselves."
Prizes for a draw were donated by a number of local businesses, including Homebase and MSF.
