WHIST DRIVE - Almeley Whist Club held the last whist drive of 2004 in Almeley Village Hall on Tuesday, December 21. There was a record turn out of players who enjoyed the choristers from St Mary's Church singing Christmas carols, before play began. A collection for Save the Children Fund was made by the singers. Prizes were won by Mrs G Lloyd, Mrs M Price, Mrs C Sinchcombe, Mrs J Watkins, Mr M Gore, Mrs J Hill, Mrs D Hill and Mrs M Goode. The next whist drive will be on January 11 at 7.45pm.
