ONE TO REMEMBER - A magnificent performance by the Mansell singers made this years carol service at St Lawrence Church, Bishopstone, on Sunday, December 19, one to

remember. The service officiated by Rev Angela Deane had a warmth and

happiness that fitted the occasion.The service ended with hot mulled wine

and home made mince pies.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION - On January 1, 2005, the final phase of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 comes into force. What does it mean for persons living within the group parish? It gives the right to access information about the parish and its activities. To obtain this information put an application in writing. Most of the news coming from the parish council is publicised in the form of a newsletter or pinned on the local Notice Board.

VILLAGE LOTTERY - Number 35 was the bonus ball drawn on Friday, December 24. Winner of £25 was Pauline Jordan. Number 25 was drawn on Saturday, January1, and Heather Kennard won £25.

FESTIVE WALK - On a cold and frosty December 27 morning the Wacky Walkers followed the local footpaths and lanes around Bishopstone starting and ending at the Lord Nelson Inn. After the two hour walk a pleasant social gathering was enjoyed by all.

CAROL SINGERS - A gathering of locals sang Christmas carols from one end of the village to the other on Tuesday, December 21, in aid of The Hereford Haven Breast Cancer charity. The total raised was £198.

GARDEN RAIDS - Sometime either Monday night or early Tuesday morning December 27/28 in Bishopstone two houses had their garden sheds broken into and various items stolen. Villagers are being asked to report anything suspicious to WPC Pam Epton on 08457 444 888 ext 4730.

POSTING TIME - The posting time has changed on the mail box in the middle of Bishopstone to 1pm instead of 2.30pm.
