POLICE WARNING - There is a spate in and around Shobdon of Diesel theft from lorries parked overnight. Members of the public, especially anyone out in the early hours, are asked to keep their eyes open and report any unusual activity by ringing the police or Crime stoppers 0800 555111
CAROL SINGING - Sixteen Shobdon carol singers toured the village and raised £111 for Shobdon Playgroup. The cash was presented to Miss Julie Taylor, the new leader.
PARISH CHRISTMAS COMPETITION -
The judges of the Best Dressed House/garden competition, held the week before Christmas, have extended congratulations to all the parishioners who entered into the spirit of the season. The parish looked fabulous especially the various housing estates.The results were: Overall winner £15, Don and Maria Jaques, Hillhampton Lane.
Consolation prizes £10, Ann Davies, The Grove Estate. Chris and Mel Jones, Moor Meadow, Sarah Greatwich, Easthampton.
DANCE CLASSES - Local dance tutors, Mike and Jenny Evans UK APTD. (01568 708540) are responding to Parish Plan requests and starting Ballroom Dance Classes from next Tuesday, 8 to 10pm. They also hold classes at Aymestry on a Thursday.
TSUNAMI APPEAL FUND - A coffee morning /table sale is to be held in the village hall Saturday, January 15, at 11am. Help and items needed. Contact Jenny 01568 708509.
SHOBDON WI - The speaker on Thursday, January 20, will be Dave Taylor speaking on the Fire Service. Guests and new members welcome.
