Ledbury looks set to get its dedicated coach park at the Countrywide store by early summer.

Herefordshire Council plans to start work in April or May and it should take no more than three or four weeks to complete. Four coach spaces will be created by council contractor Owen Williams.

The news has been welcomed by Coun Peter Watts, chairman of planning on Ledbury Town Council, who said: "The lack of a dedicated coach park at present is one reason we don't see many coaches in town, so this development is very good news for Ledbury."

Money for the project will come from Herefordshire Council and a £30,000 donation from Pettifer Estates, the company that built Homebase on the Lower Road Trading Estate. The money comes as part of an agreement over planning permission.
