YOUNGSTERS at the Elms School, Colwall, learned about the delights of traditional gardens at the weekend.
The school played host to a two-day festival of arts and crafts entitled In an English Country Garden.
The event, devised by head of drama Sally Mence, involved pupils in a host of activities. These ranged from music, drama and dance to willow sculpture, pottery and painting on porcelain.
Saturday concluded with a reading of prose and poems. On Sunday, pupils took part in a garden-inspired church service and a ceilidh.
"It was a very successful event," said Mrs Mence.
