Hereford United manager Graham Turner is confident away-day specialists Hucknall Town won't find it too comfortable at Edgar Street tomorrow in the FA Trophy's last eight.

The Bulls are firm favourites to lift the Trophy at Villa Park in May after being handed a golden opportunity to reach the semi-finals of the competition which they have yet to win in its 35-year history.

But Conference North outfit Hucknall will want something to say about that, having ditched an impressive list of clubs to reach this stage of the competition.

Town dumped out Conference South promotion-chasers Cambridge City in the fifth round, while Northwich Victoria, Southport, Radcliffe Borough and Bracknell Town have all fallen victim.

Furthermore, the Nottinghamshire-based side have progressed in each of the previous three rounds after being drawn away from their Watnall Road headquarters.

Hereford were given a rough ride by UniBond First Division side Eastwood in the last 16 before the Bulls eventually advanced 4-2 in the replay.

Turner believes Hucknall will create similar problems but he is sure his stars will be fired up for victory with the final in sight, while a win would boost confidence ahead of United's next two crucial Conference fixtures at home to Carlisle and Crawley.

"It's an exciting game in prospect," admitted Turner. "This could be the biggest week of the season for us with Hucknall, Carlisle and Crawley coming up.

"We've had Hucknall watched, obviously, and the vibes are that they are a decent side. I know that I tried to sign two players 18 months ago and they finished up going to Hucknall simply because they were paying more money.

"They are having a real go at getting into the main Conference, so we know it will be difficult. Eastwood gave us a very hard game in the last round and this team are two levels higher up than them.

"But this is a good opportunity for us to get into the semi-finals and we must try to take it. It should be a good occasion for our supporters and I expect Hucknall will have a lot of supporters here too."

Turner may be without right wing-back Simon Travis who suffered a cut toe during United's 2-2 draw at Tamworth in the Conference on Tuesday night.

But midfielder Jamie Pitman (calf) and forward Rob Purdie (knee) have both returned to training and should make the squad.

Hucknall manager Dean Barrick, who spent a period on loan at Edgar Street during the 2001/02 campaign, fancies his side's chances of causing an upset and claiming the £7,000 prize money in the process.

Barrick said: "I don't think we could have a tougher game. It would have been nice for the fans if we could have been drawn at home.

"If we get any further in this competition, we will have certainly worked hard. We will go there as second best but if we play well, we are capable of getting a result."
