Tarrington TATLER - In the latest edition of the Tatler it was reported that at present 300 copies are printed and distributed. It was stated that the funding was provided by the Parish Council, Parochial Church Council and advertising although it was hoped for even more advertising in the future.

CHURCH - It is looking for organists to play on a rota basis for services throughout the year. Expertise is not required but adequacy and enthusiasm will suffice.

PARISH PLAN -THE first public parish plan meeting was held on Saturday, March 5, in the Tarrington Arms, with 130 parishioners present, a total which impressed Rosie Davidson from Hereford Voluntary Action and Councillor Josie Pemberton who attended to give advice and practical suggestions. Many families came, and children under 16 received a free Easter egg. Angela Stock, chairman of Tarrington Parish Council, explained the purpose of a parish plan. This would set out the collective aspirations of the local community for the parish over the next ten years, and action plans drawn up to implement these ideas in consultation with the Parish Council and Herefordshire Council. Once the parish plan had been formally adopted, it would provide an invaluable tool to the parish council enhancing its authority in all future dealings with an invaluable tool to the parish council enhancing its authority in all future dealings with Herefordshire Council.

It was unanimously agreed to go ahead in preparing a Tarrington Parish Plan, and 37 people indicated their willingness to be actively involved. At a subsequent meeting held of Tuesday, March 29, in the Community Hall, Lynda Wilcox, Chief Executive of Herefordshire Association of Local Councils, outlined possible ways to establish a parish plan, and answered questions from the 27 people who attended. A Steering Committee was appointed, with Richard Price as chairman, Stuart Fryer as Vice-chairman, and Graeme Forrester as correspondence secretary. May Feith and Vivien Kouzeleas were to be responsible for publicity, and Margaret Lilleyman was elected minute secretary. Two members of the current parish council, Phil Avery and Anthony Bush were also elected to the steering committee. It was agreed that all meetings of the steering committee would be open to parishioners, whether they wished to participate or come as observers. The next meeting is to be on Tuesday, May 3, at 7.30pm in the Lady Emily Community Hall.
