AN 84-year-old Second World War survivor has unveiled sculptures at a former bomb factory in Hereford that played a big part in the war effort.
Nora Foster, from South Wye, has her own name among others etched on the 14ft granite slab on Holme Lacy Road at the Rotherwas Industrial Estate.
The work, funded with £60,000 from European and Central Government Funding, is part of a project by Hereford Council and Herefordshire Lore to mark the positive role women have played in Rotherwas.
Brighton-based artist Bruce Williams has worked on the monument that is one of three depicting past, present and future generations.
Two more monuments depicting businesswoman and company director Debbie Gittoes and 10-year-old Sophie Dillon will be unveiled later in the year.
Rotherwas munitions factory played an important part in the nation's war effort employing thousands of people, mostly women, and producing thousands of bombs.
