PERSHORE progressed to the semi-finals of the Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup with a determined performance against a lack-lustre Ledbury.

PERSHORE TOWN 2, LEDBURY TOWN 1

The opening 20 minutes saw Paul Workman, in the Pershore goal, deny both Robbie Colwell and Gareth Davis.

On 22 minutes, a melee in the Ledbury box saw Adam Twine upended and Pershore awarded a penalty.

Andy Hodgetts' spot-kick was superbly saved by Craig Humphries and the scores remained goalless at half-time.

Ledbury took the lead on the hour mark when a Stuart Hall free-kick fell to Steve Olczak, who blasted home from 12 yards out.

Two minutes later, Olczak conceded a free-kick on the edge of the area. Mark Bellamy's effort was palmed away by Humphries but fell to Mathew Hirons, who made no mistake from eight yards.

Pershore won the tie in the 83rd minute when Mark Bellamy sidefooted home from ten yards after good work by Andrew Hodgetts.
