Ledbury Town returned to West Midlands League premier division action on Saturday when they travelled to Staffordshire side Heath Hayes.

HEATH HAYES 1, LEDBURY TOWN 0

Town seemed to be suffering a hangover from the previous week's FA Vase defeat at Didcot and never got into their rhythm with Heath Hayes opting to play a restrictive 4-5-1 formation.

Ledbury found it difficult to create any chances and on 12 minutes it was Heath Hayes who opened the scoring with a shot from six yards that gave goalkeeper Humphries no chance. At the break it remained 1-0.

Second half was a dour affair with neither side creating any openings, Ledbury's only chance of hope fell to Robbie Colwell who headed into the keeper's arms.

Hayes never really troubled Humphries in the Ledbury goal and, with man of the match Nathan Haisley solid in defence, the game petered out for Heath Hayes to run out 1-0 winners.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Ledbury Town travel to Wednesfield. Coach leaves 12.30pm.
