Ledbury Town suffered their second West Midlands Premier Division defeat within a week at runaway league leaders Tipton Town on Saturday.

TIPTON TOWN 1, LEDBURY TOWN 0

The previous Wednesday, Ledbury had surrendered their unbeaten start to the season losing 3-1 at home to Wellington, but the game at Tipton Town always going to be difficult.

Tipton, who had topped the table nearly all season last year before being pipped for promotion by Malvern Town over the last couple of games, seem set on winning the title this campaign and have only dropped four points to date.

Ledbury found it difficult against the uncompromising home defence and their cause was not helped when Alex Volosonous was injured following a tackle and took no further part in the game.

Tipton opened the scoring midway through the half when Lee Rollason slotted in from close range.

The second half saw little change as Ledbury still found it difficult to play any flowing football due to the defensive tactics of the home side and Lee Hooper was the next casualty following another strong tackle.

Ledbury persevered and forced three corners in the dying minutes but could not get the equaliser.
