SUMMER CONCERT - Monmouth Ladies Choir is giving a concert in Norton Baptist Church next Wednesday at 7.30pm. The concert is for Multi-International Aid, a charity organised by Margery Pryce-Jones. MIA has recently been doing valuable work with Russian street children and Mrs Pryce-Jones will give a report on the progress of this work. Tickets for the evening are £3, to include refreshments. There will also be a produce stall. Everyone is welcome. Please come, enjoy the music.

FILM NIGHT - The next film night in Skenfrith Parish Hall is on Saturday at 7pm. The film will be Ladies in Lavender, starring Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Daniel Bruhl. Tickets at the door are adults £3 and children £2. Refreshments are available. These film nights come courtesy of Monmouthshire Mobil Movies and are generally very popular. FUN DAY - This year Skenfrith Fun Day is on Saturday, July 23, at 2pm, this is a preliminary notice and there will be a reminder nearer the date. There is a new committee organising Fun Day this year, led by Stuart Penny. Please give them as much support as possible. This year's is full of events for all the family such as golf, wellie throwing, pony and trap rides, bouncy castles, face and plate painting and a chance to beat the championship winning Skenfrith goalie. You can also learn something new like circus skills and fly-fishing. The day will be rounded off with a tug-of-war competition and the traditional duck egg race on the River Monnow. There will be plenty of teas and cakes. Lots of stalls and a car boot sale.
