ROBIN Hughes proved to be the county's leading smallbore rifle shot when he won Herefordshire Target Shooting Assoc-iation's championship meeting at his home club range at Bromyard.
Hughes shot 782 out of 800 to lift Jack Edwards Cup and class-A open championship and then teamed up with Nick Hill (Leominster) to take the open pairs.
Hill won the 50-metres event, while the 100-yards cup went to Bob Jones (Ross-on-Wye). Jones also won the class-B open championship with 777 and the veterans cup. Vivian Mumford (Brom-yard) was the ladies' winner.
