SEVERAL local point-to-point riders, plus a few retired 'saddle celebrities', are training for quite a different ride at Hereford Racecourse on July 1.
They will be lining up to bounce across the turf on rubber Space Hoppers for races in aid of the Injured Jockeys' Fund as part of the Welsh Border Area Point-to-Point awards day.
Eastnor jockey Julian Pritchard, the point-to-point wins record holder, will be presenting the awards.
