STAFF at a Ross-on-Wye hotel have refused to comment on claims that the British National Party are holding a meeting at their venue tomorrow evening.
UK Indymedia, a network of alternative media activists, issued a statement saying the BNP were hosting a fundraising dinner at the Chase Hotel.
But calls from the Hereford Times were met with "no comment" responses from staff at the Ross hotel today.
The UK Indymedia press release claimed that the BNP leader, Nick Griffin, would be attending the dinner.
Mr Griffin appeared on the BBC's Question Time programme last night when he defended a Klu Klux Klan member as "non-violent".
Sarah Carr, the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Hereford, has also heard of the rumours of a BNP meeting.
She said: "The BNP peddles hatred and fear. The BNP’s unpleasant, intolerant and racist objectives are not welcome in Herefordshire."
The UK Indymedia statement said plans were underway to hold a demonstration outside the Chase Hotel from 5pm tomorrow.
