A Bromyard doctor could be struck off after allegations he had been accessing child porn from his home computer.
Nicholas Spicer was a GP at Nunwell Surgery in Bromyard but has been suspended from the practice since December 2007.
On Monday, the General Medical Council’s fitness to practise panel will look into an allegation that, over an 18-month period, the doctor accessed paedophilic stories and material.
If the panel finds Dr Spicer’s fitness is impaired, it could place conditions on him, suspend him for a certain period, or strike him off.
NHS Herefordshire said: “The primary care trust has taken the appropriate regulatory action and is monitoring the outcome of the GMC hearing.”
“In view of the fact that the hearing is due to take place, the primary care trust cannot comment further at this time.”
