COFFEE MORNING - A very successful Macmillan coffee morning was held last Friday in Monkland Village Hall where a massive £700 was raised. A friendly atmosphere prevailed throughout the busy morning as visitors drank coffee and emptied their purses for this worthwhile cause. Tables were laid with homemade cakes, preserves, fruit and vegetables, books and bargains on the white elephant stall. A huge ‘thank you’ goes to everyone who helped with and supported the event.
HARVEST FESTIVAL - On October 11, the Harvest Festival service will take place in Monkland church at 11.30am, followed by lunch at the village hall.
Harvest gifts for the community larder (dried or tinned) will be given to needy people in Herefordshire. Tickets for lunch are available from Wendy Jancy on 720265, Janet Butler on 720180 or Dee Griffiths on 720437.
