PEOPLE working for the NHS in Herefordshire are being urged not to hide their light under a bushell.

The search is on to find the best pioneering techniques or inventions by NHS staff.

Winners and runners up in the West Midlands will share £10,000 in a competition run by MidTech, the regional NHS innovation hub.

Mid Tech is part of a national network set up by the Department of Health to identify, protect and commercialise ideas from the NHS, and ensure that a share of the profits go to the the inventor and the NHS trust where the projects were born.

Last year a team from the Hereford Hospitals Trust was among the 12 finalists in the regional competition with their idea of an infection prevention and control dashboard.

The closing date for the competition is September 14.
