ST MARY’S CHURCH ROOF APPEAL LAUNCH – The launch of the Raise the Roof appeal will take place at 7.30pm on Friday, April 24, at St Mary’s. We have already raised £110,000 towards the cost of a new roof and extensive repairs but still need to find a further £75,000 to ensure the survival of this wonderful ancient building.
There will be presentations at the launch by Rev Heather Short, church architect Peter Taylor and appeal patron, award-winning journalist and local author Brian Viner.
Cheese and wine will be served. There will be displays about the history of the church and the appeal. Everyone is very welcome. For details, call Jane Keating on 01432 880213.
TALK – The History Society’s talk this month is by Ron Shoesmith, who will speak about Alfred Watkins, photographic pioneer. The meeting is on Monday at 7.30pm in the community centre.
