THE BODENHAM FLOODS GROUP – As part of its efforts to get Herefordshire Council to become more pro-active when it comes to floods maintenance, the floods group will hold a public meeting in the parish hall at 7.30pm on Friday, October 17. Herefordshire Council’s head of highways and senior land drainage engineers have been invited to attend. All parishioners, particularly those who have suffered from local flooding, are urged to attend.

BODENHAM WI – The next WI meeting will be next Tuesday at 7.30pm in the parish hall. The speaker will be Allan Lloyd who will talk about the Macmillan Renton cancer campaign. During the meeting he will be presented with a cheque for monies raised from the various events held as part of the President’s Project. Everyone is welcome, including non-members.

BODENHAM LEISURE CLUB – The club meets at the parish hall at 2.30pm next Monday to hear Wendy Steadman give a talk entitled ‘Motorbike Rider’.

FLICKS IN THE STICKS – This returns to the parish hall tomorrow (Friday) with a showing of Greenfingers (15). It features a group of English prisoners designing and building a garden for one of the world’s most prestigious flower shows and stars Helen Mirren and Clive Owen. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Admission is £3.50.

BODENHAM FLOWER FESTIVAL – Organisers of the Bodenham Flower Festival have reported that more than £5,000 has been raised towards church funds.
