FOURTEEN people have been made redundant at the Hereford branch of a car parts supplier which has gone into administration.
On Monday, it was announced that LSUK had gone into administration following a failed takeover by rival company Euro Car Parts.
Although the takeover had only been made five days previously, Euro Car Parts said salaries and rent were paid before allowing Tenon Recovery to handle the administration.
In a statement Euro Car Parts said: “Unfortunately, it became clear, very quickly that it was simply going to be impossible to continue with investment without the required support, which was not forthcoming.
“Euro Car parts deeply regrets what has happened but to continue any longer with LSUK, as it currently stands, was unfortunately a futile operation.”
LSUK has 53 branches including the Hereford site on Mortimer Road, as well as MI Diesal Products, Protech Automotive (UK) and Yeovil Rewind.
Nationally, 600 people working for the company have lost their jobs.
The administrators said they were already in contact with several interested parties.
