HEREFORD shopping centre Maylord Orchards will host an outdoor vegan market after the success of the first event last year.

This event will be based in Maylord Orchards and around the city centre on May 5 between 11am and 3pm.

Vendors will be selling vegan food, drinks and artisan crafts, plus local community groups and charities.

It is said to be a bigger event than last year with a mix of food, produce and "vegan friendly" products plus live entertainment.

The market will be in the shopping centre's indoor atrium, Trinity Square, Gomond Street and Commercial Street.

Last year the event was held in September and featured independent Hereford bar the Jam Factory.

The Jam Factory is known for its live music events and DJ nights, as well as tasty drinks.

It recently set up a pop-up street food stall at the Butter Market called Mariachis, which serves modern vegan food from tacos to churros.

But the future of Maylord Orchards, once a thriving city centre shopping area, remains uncertain following the closure of Wilko, its largest shops, and after plans were paused for a brand new city library.
