A MUCH-missed former bakery is up for sale in a Herefordshire town.

The former bakery and home is on the market with agents Chancellors for a guide price of £475,000.

The agents said the "captivating" property offers a blend of residential comfort and commercial potential just outside of Kington town centre.

The beautifully presented home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms upstairs, alongside an open-plan living and dining room and kitchen.

Downstairs is a fully-equipped bakery and tea room, which comes with a fully-equipped commercial kitchen.

The property was previously home to Sally's Pantry, a bakery and cafe run by Sally Edey alongside her daughter Nicole.

Mrs Edey had first started selling food in 1999 when she found that she had grown too much of her own fruit and veg to consume herself and decided to put some on the wall outside her house in Pembridge.

She then started running stalls in farmers markets in the area and also providing jams, chutneys and baked goods for wholesalers, before moving into the shop on Headbrook in Kington in 2010.

The bakery closed down when she retired in 2022, with the agents highlighting that it is the contents and commercial building that is for sale, not a business.

"In 2022 the business turned over circa £250,000 and with many locals wishing for the current owners to come out of retirement and re-open a similar style business, this is an opportunity not to be missed," Chancellors said.
