HEREFORDSHIRE’S cheapest home for sale right now could be perfect for anyone looking to get on the property ladder... but there is a catch.

37 Bargates Street in Leominster is currently on the market for £125,000 with Cobb Amos, making it the cheapest house in the county that is not a retirement home, shared ownership property, or holiday home.

Any potential buyer would not be able to move in right away, however, as there is currently a tenant living in the property who would have to be given two months’ notice should their new landlord want to evict them, Cobb Amos said.

The front door of the grade II listed house proceeds into the living room which has a feature fireplace, storage cupboard and exposed wooden beams. An opening leads into the dining hall where there are stairs to the first floor, space for a dining table and access to the kitchen. The kitchen is fitted with wall and base units, space for a cooker and a door which leads to the rear garden.

The first floor consists of a double bedroom and a family bathroom. The bedroom has a hanging rail, access to the loft and character features including a high ceiling and original fireplace whilst the family bathroom is fitted with a three-piece suite including a bath. There is also an airing cupboard and additional storage space.

The rear garden is enclosed by a fence and is mainly made up of lawn but there is a patio area for seating in the warmer months.

There is also a separate outbuilding, which could be used as storage space and has a WC, plus space and plumbing for a washing machine.
