A WOMAN was "attacked by a herd of cows" while walking her dog in Herefordshire.
Councillor Bruce Baker said that a woman was attacked by cows in Bodenham, according to recently released draft minutes of a Pencombe Group Parish Council meeting.
She was said to have been walking her dog at the time of the attack.
At the meeting on October 24, the council decided to issue a warning in the parish newsletter for walkers to be aware of livestock.

The National Farmers' Union (NFU) suggests that walkers can stay safe by following the Countryside Code, which recommends keeping dogs on a short lead to prevent them from coming between a cow and its calf. It also urges people not to run away from cows, as running can make them more likely to chase you than if you move away slowly and steadily.
The NFU has previously campaigned for legal permission to allow farmers to divert public rights of way where cattle are present, but this has been opposed by walkers.
The Ramblers Association recommends that walkers avoid getting between cows and their calves and move quietly and quickly.
