THE half-term holiday is now upon us, and families are looking for days out and activities to enjoy.

Waterworks Museum Steam and Working Days - May 28
Enjoy the sights, smells and sounds a bygone era of steam at the Waterworks Museum in Broomy Hill, Hereford. Visitors can see the UK’s widest range of working pumps and engines from across Herefordshire, neighbouring counties and Wales, most of which are the last working examples of their type.

Chocolate lolly workshop - May 30/31
This half term, join the team at Choccotastic in Homend Mews, Ledbury for some under the sea fun at their chocolate lolly workshop. There will be yummy milk chocolate lollipops with a nautical theme. Spaces always fill up fast, so book now by phoning 01531 637305.
Fireman Sam Show - May 30
Join Sam, Penny, Elvis, Station Officer Steele and Norman in an all singing, dancing, action-packed show at The Courtyard, Hereford. You can become a firefighter cadet and then watch the magic of the circus. Shows are at 11.30am and 2.30pm, priced at £17.50 adults, £16.50 children. Book tickets here.
Oaker Wood Leisure Half Term Activities - May 30 to June 1
Oaker Wood are running Holiday Club for seven to 12-year-olds. Each day is different and children participate in various activities such as high topes, zip wire, a gladiator climbing challenge and wild camp. It costs £32.50 and can be booked here.

Teddy Bears Picnic & Fly In - May 31
A free event at Shobdon Aerodome from 11am to 3pm with lots of fun, activities and competitions - from face painting to balloon moddelling, paper plane folding and flying, and pin the heart on the teddy.
Messy Church at Hereford Cathedral - June 1
Take part in a day of creative fun this, including a selection of crafts and activities for all of the family to take part in. Messy Church is a free drop-in event with no pre-booking required. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Matilda The Musical JR - June 1-3
Ludwig Theatre Arts students present Matilda The Musical JR at The Courtyard this summer. The show opened on the West End in 2011 and made its Broadway premiere in 2013. Tickets are £15 (£14 consessions) and can be bought here.
Annual Charity Scarecrow Competition - June 3
An annual charity scarecrow competition is being judged once again this year by local TV celebrity and antiques expert, Kate Bliss. Organised in aid of Friends of Staunton school, the event will be held at Oakchurch Farm Shop at Staunton-on-Wye, with judging at 11am.
