THE driver of a car which crashed into a building in Hereford suffered a medical episode prior to the incident, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Emergency services were called to Skylon View in Rotherwas shortly before 1.30pm this afternoon (Monday) after reports of a car "on its side".

"We were called at 1.21pm to Skylon View to reports of a car having crashed into a building, a spokesman for the ambulance service said.

"We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene and assessed two patients.

"One was a woman who was the passenger. She was treated for minor injuries and taken to Hereford County Hospital.

"The other was a man, the driver of the vehicle, and crews were told on arrival he had suffered a medical episode prior to the collision.

"He was treated for that, and minor injuries suffered in the collision, and taken to Hereford County Hospital."

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said on arrival its crew from Hereford found one vehicle on its side into a building.

The vehicle was made safe and structural engineer requested to assess the building.
