WHEN the community of Little Birch was asked where cash from a weekend of revelry that is being planned should go, the answer was unanimous - the appeal for a new cancer unit at Hereford County Hospital.
The event will cover three days and be staged at the Castle Inn, Little Birch.
Licensee Lyn Caldicott has promised a hectic weekend and said customers and nearly everyone who lived in the area had been roped in to help.
The first day, Friday, August 17, will be devoted to a beer festival at The Castle Inn, with 15 real ales and cider and perry on offer.
The following two days will present fun for all the family with everything one can expect from a rural affair, ranging from a Sealed Knot battle to splatting the rat.
There will be music every evening, plus a hog roast on Saturday and barbecue on Sunday.
And youngsters have not been left out - with competitions for making a castle, painting a picture and composing a poem.
