A SEVEN-year-old boy might already have discovered his future career – as a smoothie maker.

Griffin Jones won a competition to design a smoothie as part of Pembridge CE Primary School's 'Health of the World Week'.

His winning smoothie, a non-alcoholic Pina Colada recipe, comprised of one third of a fresh pineapple, one banana, 160ml of coconut milk and a dash of vanilla extract.

Sam Mizrahi, owner Of Ye Olde Steppes tearoom in Pembridge, was the judge and as part of the prize offered to have the winning smoothie on her menu for the day as well as a voucher for a free smoothie at the tearooms.

Griffin said: "I was very surprised that I won. I kept it simple and just used some of my favourite ingredients.

"I love pineapple and banana and my mum said if I used coconut milk we could call it a Pina Colada, but apparently the grown-up version has alcohol.

"I was pleased with my smoothie, it tastes yummy and it's good for you too."

Other events which were part of the Health of the World Week included a visit from Tesco about sustainability, meditation and yoga, a whole school walk, a healthy café and art from recyclable materials.
