THE number of people out of work in Herefordshire has dropped again.

The current number of people claiming unemployment benefits in the county is 1,115, compared to 1,145 last month.

Mike Dzioba of Jobcentre Plus said this compares to 1,185 at the same time last year and is a 59 percent reduction compared to five years ago.

The number of current claimants aged 18 to 24 is 260, which is the same figure as last month, but 20 less than this time last year, and a 68 percent reduction compared to five years ago.

They are going to hold a job fair with Ross Library on August 3. And the annual jobs fair is on Thursday, September 7 at the Shirehall in Hereford. Times for both are to be confirmed.
