VINTAGE cars and motorbike from across the country arrived in the county for a scenic fundraising event around the border's valleys and hills.

The inaugural Madley Miglia “Scenic Tour” took place earlier this month when 40 classic and vintage vehicles gathered to raise money for Madley Church, with some participants travelling from Oxfordshire and Hampshire to enjoy the 67-mile journey.

The oldest vehicle was Geoff and Mollie Moore's 1925 Lancia Lambda which was ideally suited to the rough roads of the Olchon Valley where more modern vehicles often grounded themselves.

Stuart and Sue Green from Lymington in Hampshire took part in their 1962 Frogeye Sprite and enjoyed empty roads and wonderful views unknown in their part of the country.

After the narrow lanes the route took the cars on open roads past Llanthony and over the Gospel Pass before returning back to Madley.
