A MAN who left his parter with a nasty facial injury following an argument will be sentenced by a judge at crown court.

Andrew Canham, 57, of Hope-under-Dinmore, pleaded guilty on a basis at Hereford Magistrates Court last week to wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm to Wioletta Banasik.

Peter Love, prosecuting, said the attack happened at a caravan park in Leominster where they were both living on May 15.

“The pair were in a relationship and had been together for 17 months at the time,” said Mr Love.

“On the evening of the argument at the caravan, Miss Banasik’s recollection of the event was very limited as she had been drinking. She remembered being kicked and hit all over her body but can’t remember how it happened.”

Mr Love said Canham’s account of the incident is somewhat different although he admitted that they had an argument and things became physical.

He admitted that he ‘snapped’ and grabbed her by her arm and dragged her out of the caravan and left her outside.

Canham claimed that Miss Banasik climbed back through a broken window before he again dragged her outside. She again got back into the caravan and Canham again pushed her out before she stumbled down steps.

Canham said that his pushing resulted in Miss Banasik falling into a bike outside, causing the injury to her face.

After seeing a picture of Miss Banasik’s injury, magistrates adjourned the case to be sentenced at the higher court.
