A CHARITY rugby match will be held in memory of a young farmer who died earlier this year.
Sam Palmer, died aged 29, after suffering a heart attack in January which was a massive shock to the local community near Kingstone.
Due to Sam's love of rugby his former team-mates have organised a charity match to be held in his memory on May 13 at Hereford Rugby Club in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
The match will see Pontrilas RFC play against Hereford Old Boy's with a 2.30pm kick-off.
Organiser Sophie Dale said: "Sam was a young farmer who was born and bred in the local area.
"He used to play a lot of rugby in Hereford and for a young farmers team. The match will see all the old players Sam played with and against playing along with some who don't play anymore."
There will also be a raffle held in aid of the British Heart Foundation with a range of prizes on offer.
