A REPEAT offender has been jailed for ten months after carrying out a number of burglaries in Ross-on-Wye.

Andrew Murdoch, 45, of Smallbrook Gardens, Ross was sentenced by Herefordshire Magistrates Court on Monday.

At an earlier trial he had been found guilty of stealing money from a fruit machine, and for taking a sports bags containing a Fitbit watch, from the Golf Sports Bar in Trenchard Street on January 10.

He also initially pleaded not guilty to entering Perfect Measure Hair and Beauty in Ross-on-Wye between January 7 and 10 and stealing a Casio till worth £86 containing £30 cash, a charity box containing £20, a silver tin containing £10 tips, two cash tins containing £180 and a box of sweets worth £25. But he later changed his plea to guilty and was sentenced for this too.

He was also sentenced for another offence of breaking a conditional discharge and for stealing three bottles of perfume from Boots in Ross on January 8.
