A NEW choir led by professional singers and catering for all
young people aged seven to 21 is to be launched in Hereford.
Starting in the New Year, the non-auditioned Herefordshire Youth Choir will rehearse on Saturdays at Hereford Sixth Form College.
The choir will perform a wide variety of music and will be
led by professional singers Jon Weller and Hannah West.
The inaugural concert of the choir will be as part of a joint
concert with Herefordshire Youth Concert Band on April 1,
at Leominster Priory.
Jon Weller, director of the youth choir, said: “Herefordshire
is steeped in musical history and it is vital that we continue to
encourage our young people to make music to keep that going.
“Herefordshire Youth Choir will become an integrated part of everything we offer at Herefordshire Youth Music.”
